SUMMARY:Wednesday Weed Warriors: October 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:On October 9\, 5 PM to 7 PM\, help us at Serene Ravine (1037 Lake Claire Drive) control Buchkiller\, an invasive alien weeds in the Serene Ravine that is going RAMPANT !  We will also prepare the site where the second teaching library will be installed… the first one has already been installed at the Little Magothy Beach Park\, and will soon be stocked with reference books\, nature books\, and many other items of interest.  This has been a major project led by Rebecca Sawyer.  She is amazing ! \nOn October 16\, we will have trees and shrubs delivered at Little Magothy Beach Park between 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM.  These will be planted on October 17 and 18\, 10 AM to 12 PM\, and 2 PM to 4 PM both days\, with bushes that have already been delivered. \nOn October 16 and 23\, 5 PM to 7 PM\, Wednesday Weed Warriors  will again work at the Little Magothy Beach Park to continue removing English Ivy\, Euonymus\, and Burning bush. \nThe Wednesday Weed Warriors have made an amazing job over the last few years.  But there is a lot more to accomplish !  Consider spending a late afternoon to support this wonderful effort ! \nPlease sign-up on the SignUp Genius (also to find out where we will be) at: \nhttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0D49AAAC22A57-51822034-october \nNote: We are looking for donations of art work created in our natural and wild places in our community or inspired by the neighborhood wildlife.  Examples framed paintings or photographs taken at one our beaches or parks\, sea glass collected on our beaches made unit nature pictures (i. e a heron!) let me know your ideas!  The items will be auctioned off at our November speaker event on backyard birds.

SUMMARY:Trees planting at Little Magothy Beach Park
DESCRIPTION:Join us to plant more than 100 trees at Little Magothy Beach Park.  These trees were purchased from Tree Troopers with a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust.  The Wednesday Weed Warriors have cleared up most of the area from invasive plants\, particularly Firebush.  We already have planted a number of native perennials\,  We now need to establish native trees. \nWe will be there Friday October 18 and Saturday October 19\, 10 AM – 12 PM\, and 2 PM tp 4 PM.  A neighbor will allow us to have access to water so we can water them deeply\, and help them get established. \nPlease signup on Sign-Up Genius for the specific day and time you will be able to help.: \nhttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0D49AAAC22A57-50818051-tree \nBring a pade or shovel if you have one\, and a bucket to water the trees.
