SUMMARY:CCC Habitat Heroes Tour ~ May 29\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:Cape Conservation Corps (CCC) wants to recognize good stewards of the land by highlighting individual conservation efforts here in Cape St. Claire. Each quarter\, CCC names a new Habitat Hero. Whether it’s an individual or a group\, Habitat Heroes have created wildlife and nature-friendly ecosystems on their own properties. \nThis year’s tour kicks off at 5:00 PM at Stop #1:  Father Jim Bors’ house\, 987 Round Top Dr. Fr. Jim’s property has been undergoing a complete reset. Non-natives have been removed and replaced by native trees\, shrubs and pollinator friendly perennials. A rain garden is also part of the landscape. Fr. Jim will share plans for future enhancements as well. \nStop #2 at 6:00 PM:  Karen Mullin’s house\, 1214 Highview Dr.  Karen and her family have been improving the habitat of their newly built home since 2018. They have preserved trees\, replaced some of their lawn with native plant “rivers” to support pollinators and biodiversity\, and created wildlife habitat. The battle against invasive non-native plants and vines continues! Karen will also share plans for future enhancements. \nThe Habitat Heroes Tour is a great opportunity to learn and get ideas for your own yard! Hope to see you there! \nSign up here so we’ll know how many folks to expect. Thanks! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0D49AAAC22A57-64062596-habitat \n  \n
