Shell Yeah! The Cape’s Amazing Turtles!
CCC will hold its FREE biannual speaker event, along with a “nature art” silent auction, on Friday, November 6th, at the Cape Clubhouse. Our fall speaker is Cape resident Brendan Curran! Light refreshments will be served. Doors will open at 6:30 PM.
Brendan Curran is a MD Department of Natural Resources Master Naturalist, amateur herpetologist, and Mid-Atlantic Turtle & Tortoise Society Board Member. Join Brendan, as we explore the remarkable lives of the many species of turtles that call the Broadneck Peninsula home. Learn about their habitats, role in our ecosystem, threats they face, conservation initiatives, what to do when encountering them, and how YOU can be an ally for our shelled neighbors!
In addition to the art silent auction and a fantastic speaker, an acoustic guitar is being raffled off! This is a Washburn acoustic guitar, a wonderful sounding, easy playing guitar. Built in electronics are included for amplification. Its value is estimated at around $300, plus $50 for the case. Purchase raffle tickets at the link below – tickets may be bought through 11/6, with the winning ticket being drawn at the speaker event!
