FREE CONSERVATION LANDSCAPE PROJECT

July 21

Are you interested in having a FREE conservation landscape project installed in your yard this Fall? If so, let us know!

The Anne Arundel Watershed Stewards Academy (WSA)  envisions every community in Anne Arundel County actively engaged to ensure a healthy environment for all. Watershed Stewards are community leaders who are trained to help reduce pollution in our local creeks and rivers through sustainable landscapes. WSA is looking for the perfect residential property for our Class 16 Steward Candidates to complete their next project! The ideal site would meet the following criteria:

  1. Be relatively flat.
  2. Have room enough for 30-35 people to stand and work at once.
  3. Adress a stormwater runoff issue  (standing water, erosion, runoff, etc.).
  4. Be visible from the street.
  5. Receive at least partial sun- the more sun the merrier!
  6. Project area directly over known utility lines and away from major tree roots.
  7. Fit a project of at least 100-300 sq ft in size.

WSA staff will work with you to ensure the project meets your goals as well and all costs will be covered. If interested, please reach out to Stacey Wildberger at [email protected] with your name, email, phone number, and the reason you are interested in this project. We will be choosing a site this summer and implementing the project at the end of September.

If you applied last year and weren’t chosen we still have your applications for consideration. If you no longer wish to be considered let Stacey know.
